Plant pathogens can affect all plant tissues and wipe out entire operations. Many infections can go undetected in asymptomatic plants only to decimate crops in the later stages of growth, such as hop latent viroid (HLVd). The quickest and most sensitive method to test for pathogens is a genetic analysis known as polymerase chain reaction (PCR). This pathogen detection service screens samples with PCR for unique genetic markers of fungal, bacterial, and viral cannabis pathogens to providing clean plants and peace of mind.
Currently, the lab provides accurate, high throughput pathogen testing on plant tissue for the agricultural and horticultural industries.
To get optimum results, for HLVd, it is recommended that plants are tested three times for a minimum of two consecutive negative tests approximately three to four weeks apart. Clones one month old or younger after rooting have higher rates of false negatives, the viroid accumulates as the clone ages. For HLVd. Fusarium, and Pythium it is strongly recommended to test root samples as these will provide much more accurate results.

CANNABIS AND HEMP PATHOGEN TESTS
Cannabis-specific pathogen tests of 5 pathogens that are known to cause disease in cannabis and hemp.
AVAILABLE PATHOGEN TESTS:
Beet Curly Top Virus (BCTV), Lettuce Chlorosis Virus (LCV), Hop Latent Viroid (HLVd), Fusarium spp, and Pythium spp.
For BCTV and LCV, we ask for a root and petiole sample in the sampling kit.
HOP LATENT VIROID TEST
Hop Latent Viroid (HLVd) is a pathogen that affects many different species. This test will accurately determine if your plants have HLVd.
ORDERING OPTIONS
You can order your tests 5, 10, or 25 test increments. If, for example, for 15 tests you can order 3 x 5 test kits, if you need 20 tests you can order 2 x 10 test kits, and so on. For orders of 25 kits upwards please call us directly for special pricing.
Once you receive the test you can choose to test for more pathogens shown on the paperwork, but you will be billed accordingly for the increase in testing.
